The Best and Worst Parts of Working

So, like a lot of teenagers nowadays I have a job. I've been doing the same exact thing for 2 years...working in a restaurant. It's really not a bad job, but sometimes I wish I did something else for a living. I need the money...but not badly enough to sell myself out on the streets. So, here are my top 5 perks and my top 5 least favorite things about work.

The Best:
  1. I get to work with my friends....I mean c'mon, isn't that great in itself? Most of them are people I see at school. And plus it's not like they're people I hate, because then I probably wouldn't be able to survive a day of work.
  2. Pay is pretty good....So what if I only make minimum wage, I'm just happy that it recently went up; and yes and extra 75 cents per hour does make a difference. Plus, I get tips, which are usually pretty good.
  3. I see a lot of my friends...Hey, it's a popular place to eat. When friends come in to eat, it makes the day a lot better.
  4. It's really not a lot of work and it's easy....We're open for 11 to 3 on Mondays through Thursdays, 11 to 8 on Fridays and Saturdays and closed on Sundays. So I usually work between 4 and 5 hours a day, which really isn't that much. Plus it's a simple and easy job, I mean really, even a caveman could probably do it.
  5. Meeting people....Sometimes really, really cool people some in and eat, which is awesome.
The Not So Great:
  1. IT'S HOT....I'm not kidding, I wish I was, but I'm not...it can get to over 100 degrees in there...and it's worse in the kitchen, which really makes me regret my decision to wear jeans most days.
  2. There are so many people....Most days it gets crazy busy around 12. Ugh, I'm so glad I'm not claustrophobic (or however you spell that).
  3. Tourists....a description isn't really needed for this one.
  4. Stupid people in general...Grrrrr.....you make me want to create a medicine that will cure stupidity, Example: the other day someone asked me if corned beef was beef or pork...wtf?...oh, and are ya'll magnetically attracted to dirty tables or something? Just wait one minute so I can clean it for you.
  5. Getting up for work...I know 9:30 really isn't that early, but I really like to sleep in on the weekends and during the summer.

Not So Average/Normal

Will someone please define 'normal' for me? Because I honestly don't know what normal is. I always hear people say things like, "Oh, that's not normal." Well, who the hell are you to tell me what normal is? Everyone is different, and that's what makes the world so great. I honestly believe that if everyone was the same, the life would be incredibly boring. And besides, who are you to be judging me and what I do? Did someone forget to mention to me that you are better than me? I don't criticize you, so don't criticize me. I can get on with my life just fine without your approval. I believe in being my own person, not who someone else or the world wants me to be. In other words, I live to impress no one. Have whatever opinions you want about me, I don't care. I'm glad you have your opinions, because I think everyone should have opinions about stuff. So, I don't care if I'm average or normal or not, I'm me and that's all that matters.

The First

Ok, so I'm quite new to this whole blogging thing. Actually, the only reason I created this whole this was because one of my best friends told me I should create one...just like she did. But so far, I have no idea what to write about. I am a teenager though, so I should be able to find something to write about. Afterall, I have school....and a job...and occasionally a life. Now, all I have to worry about is how I'm gonna write these things without sounding like I'm complaining all the time and how I'm gonna keep coming up with titles for these things. Should be fun. =]
